Born 1956, tuba.

Pinguin Moschner attended staatliche Hochschule für Musikk/Rheinland between 1977 and 1984. Since 1978 he has presented numerous solo concerts and appeared in a wide variety of groupings at festivals and concerts across Europe.

Particular groupings have included:

• the Leo Smith and Roscoe Mitchell Creative Orchestras in 1979 and the Anthony Braxton and Roscoe Mitchell Creative Orchestras in 1984
• Bouillabaisse with Conrad Bauer, Maggie Nicols and Hans Schneider in 1981/82
• the Butch Morris Nickelsdorf Project in 1985
• the European Tuba Quartet since 1980
• Beef connection, with Barre Phillips, Joëlle Léandre, Benoit Viredaz (1986/87)
• Pinguin Moschner's N.N. with Maggie Nicols, Günter Sommer and Regina Pastuszyk in 1991/92
• Tung Tid, with Mats Gustafsson and Christian Munthe (1993/94)
• Nevergreens with Joe Sachse and Maggie Nicols, since 1996
• a duo with Joe Sachse, particularly playing the music of Jimi Hendrix, since 1993
• Pliff, a trio with Alan Tomlinson and John Edwards which did an Arts Council-funded tour of the UK in 1996
